Golf Etiquette & Dress Code Policy
Golf Etiquette & Dress Code Policy
Many people who play and fall in love with the game of golf do so because of its fine history, traditions and sportsmanship, all factors that set golf apart from so many other sports these days.
So when you visit us please respect our Course Code, which consists of two parts – Playing Etiquette and Dress Guidelines.
Playing Etiquette
We want you to thoroughly enjoy your visit to the Club but when playing here you have a responsibility to behave considerately and in a manner that does not spoil the enjoyment of other visitors or members.
Slow play - We know that not every golfer plays to the same standard or speed, so please be considerate to other players, do not hold them up, simply call them through. This will ensure that you and your group are not under pressure to hurry shots and it will enable others to fully enjoy their game. As a guide, a fourball should take no longer than 4 hours to complete the course.
Bunkers - Our bunkers are challenging to play even when properly raked, if left unraked our bunkers can become virtually impossible. So please do not leave a bunker without raking it.
Trolleys - Trolleys and buggies should not be taken between the greens and greenside bunkers. Please do not take your trolley onto any tees.
Course care – Please help us to keep the course in the superb condition that you expect to find it by replacing divots and repairing pitch marks.
Dress Regulations
A good standard of dress and golf attire should be worn on the course and in all areas of the Clubhouse
Clean dry moulded sole golf shoes are permitted in the clubhouse. Spiked golf shoes are not permitted.
Trainers are permitted in the clubhouse.
Smart denim jeans will be permitted in the lounge bar area.
The following items of dress are not permitted in the Clubhouse
Wet, muddy clothing or golfing rainwear or wet/dirty golf shoes.
Mobile Devices
Except in an emergency, mobile devices are to be set to silent mode when in the Clubhouse and on the Course. We promote the use of mobile devices in the clubhouse through our excellent WiFi network. Perhaps consider holding a business meeting or maybe even working from the comfort of the Clubhouse? Should a phone call need to be made, we politely ask that they are made from the foyer for the consideration of other members and guests.
Society Booking Conditions 2024/2025
Society golf is an important part of the golf club and it is important that the following terms and conditions are adhered to in order that the visiting party and the golf club understand their obligations to ensure the smooth running of the day.
We can only accept society bookings on weekdays.
All bookings must be made via the Pro Shop.
In order for the group to be called a ‘Society’, the group must contain a minimum of 12 golfers.
Group bookings can not be made before 2pm on any weekend or bank holiday day. (Winter 12noon).
All bookings must pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 in order to secure the time. This must be paid within seven days of the date of the enquiry.
The time of the booking will be held for a maximum of seven days or until the deposit is paid, whichever is soonest.
Full payment must be made five days before the event. Any persons not turning up on the day will not receive a refund. For example, if the booking is for 12 people and only 11 turn up, that cost is not refunded to the group.
Should bad weather mean the course is unplayable or the event to be cancelled, then a new date will be offered. No monies paid will be returned.
Should the group cancel the booking before the full payment is made, then the deposit is forfeited.
Should the group change the date of the event before the full payment is made, then the deposit is moved with that booking. Full payment must still be made five days before the event’s new date.
