The following Terms & Conditions apply to the West of England U14 Scratch and Handicap Open Championship.

Conditions of Play and Qualification
Conditions of play
The West of England U14 Championship will be decided by Stroke Play over 36 holes. The overall winner will be the competitors with the lowest aggregate gross and score and there will also be a nett score winner. The Competition Committee’s decision in all matters is final.
In the event of a tie the Championship will be decided by play off providing conditions allow. If a play off isn't possible the Championship will be decided on countback, last 18,9,6 etc.
Where entries exceed 48 in number, there will be a handicap index ballot with the lowest 63 WHS indexes forming the start sheet and a reserve list drawn, with no change thereafter of WHS index affecting the list order.
Qualification
To be eligible to enter, a player must be:-
• A member of a golf club affiliated through its County Union to England Golf, The Golf Union of Wales or Scottish Golf
• In possession of a competition playing WHS handicap index not exceeding index 16.0 (boys) & 18.0 (girls) under the current WHS Handicapping System.
The handicap index used for round one will apply for round two.
• Under 14 on the 1st January (Year of Championship).
• 12 starting places will be reserved for girls

No caddies permitted.
Parents/carers are permitted to walk round the course but must stay at least 100 metres away from the player and must not converse with them during play. The Rules of the South Western Counties Golf Association Spectator Code are to be adhered to. For the avoidance of doubt, please see the below

The South West County Golf Association and its Officials are pleased to welcome all Parents and Spectators to Junior Championships. Please abide by our SPECTATOR CODE
The SWCGA reserves the right to prohibit parents/supporters from spectating on the course during specific competitions or matches. If parents are observed to breach such a prohibition or seen to be offering advice to players, or touching equipment the player will be penalised.
At all times, please exercise good golf etiquette, and respect host club policies.
If permitted to be on the course
• Please ensure your mobile phone is switched off.
• You should during play keep still and quiet.
• Do not walk close to players. This clearly avoids any allegations they have been offered advice. Even encouragement can be interpreted as advice. If advice is seen or heard to be given you will contravene Rule 10.2a and the player is liable to a General Penalty (2 shots). Please endeavour to stay 100yds away from players.
• Do not offer information to players on Local Rules (which are often different from those of the Club) or the Rules of Golf. Please do though ask referees or officials for help/advice with the Rules of Golf if necessary.
• You may offer players food, drink, and clothing between holes
• You should keep to the sides of fairways.
• You should stay away from any ball in play.
• You may assist in ball spotting and searching – allowing for the 3-minute rule permitting such a search.
• You should not touch a ball if it might be a player's ball.
• You must not carry or handle a player's clubs or equipment as the player can then be liable to a General Penalty (2 shots) - your actions could be construed as caddying.
• You may assist evacuating players in the event of a weather suspension.
• If you wish to take pictures during play, you should first obtain a permit from the Secretary.
Remember - outside interference from a parent, supporter or spectator may render a competitor liable to penalty

Players can win only one prize – the highest value prize

Pace of Play Chart
Players are expected to complete 18 holes in under 4 hours. Please observe the Pace of Play Chart for each hole and ensure you are on time. The referees will be checking to ensure you are in place on the course.

Referees
One referee on each 9 for each day (2 referees in total). The referees decision is final.

Order of Play
This will be as per the official start sheet for day one. A revised draw will be issued to players for the second days play in reverse gross score order. In the event of inclement weather forcing the abandonment of day one, the Championship will be played and decided by scores on Day Two.

Food
Food will be available to order from the Clubhouse each day. Please inform he reception Desk of your choice of food. Payment is made direct to the Club.
On Sunday 25th May, a meal will be provided after your game as part of the entry fee. Please inform the Reception Desk of your choice o food.

Starter
There will be an official starter for each round. Scorecards will be distributed from the 1st tee.

Score Recording
Each group must return to the official Score Recording Desk as a group. Each player will be asked to state their hole by hole score and agree the scores before signing the scorecard and handing to the Score Recorders.

Parental Consent Forms
Each player MUST complete a Parental Consent Form prior to start of play on day one of the Championship. If no Parental Consent Form is completed, the player concerned will be unable to play.

Changing Rooms
Please note that members will be present at the Club and will be using the changing rooms as per normal. Please observe any notices displayed.

Entry Fee
The entry of £50 per player must be paid on entry. The entry fee includes one practice round, competition and a one course meal after the second days play.

Practise Rounds
Players may book one practice round any day up to to weeks before the commencement of the Competition. Players must book this through the Pro Shop, 01749 840570, option 1. Play is subject to availability.

Driving Range
Driving range tokens are available from the Pro Shop. Only driving range balls may be used on the range. Please use your own golf balls on the chipping area behind the pro shop.

Trolley’s
Electric and pull trolley’s are available for hire from the pro shop on a pre-booked basis. Please reserve them by telephoning the pro shop on 01749 840570, option 1.
These rules apply to both the first and second days play in the West of England U14's Championship. The decision of the Championship Committee is final in all matters.
